Microtwinnings
TRAINCREASE – From Social Interaction to Abstract Concepts and Words: Towards Human-Driven Technology Development
MICROTWINNINGS
Increasing research excellence through hands-on training in TRAINCREASE
The Microtwinings are dedicated to increasing research potential among Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) at the University of Warsaw, Sapienza University of Rome, Manchester University, and Aarhus University through hands-on training on significant research problems
Master or PhD students are encouraged to submit even high-risk innovative research ideas consistent with one of 3 Microtwinning Calls [First: Theory Building (April 2021)] covering the topics identified as crucial for the development of the field. The collaboration on short projects related to the grant research area is supervised by the staff at the 4 institutions: Anna Borghi, Andreas Roepstorff, Angelo Cangelosi, Joanna Rączaszek-Leonardi (among others).
The participants will gain:
→ Guidance of the leading scientists in the field;
→ Founded research travels: lab visits, workshops, conferences;
→ Practical Skills: philosophical, empirical, modeling, computational, methods integration;
→ Academic skills: paper writing, grant seeking, conference presentations, teamwork;
→ Access to the research networks of 4 European universities;
→ Hands-on experience positioning for a further academic career.
The preferred team consists of 2-5 people from at least 2 partnering universities; with diverse backgrounds (e.g. experimental, computational modeling, philosophical); cutting-through various career stages (Master and PhD Students, PhD’s, Post-docs). The teams will be working mostly remotely but will have a chance to participate in exchanges (research visits) – from 1-2 weeks to up to 3 months in the partnering institutions within the Traincrease Network. Projects will then target specific results presentation: conferences and publications.
